Instructions for Textract Proofreading

Welcome to Bharati Kosha, an initiative of Vedavaapi Foundation

Following are the steps for onboarding to Bharati Khosa

  • Click on the link https://r1.bharatikosha.org/
  • Click on the login button on the top right corner 
  • In the pop-up menu click on login via google with your email id
  • Once you login, click on the ‘Authorize’ button on the pop-up window
  • You will be directed to the page with the tabs Libraries, Sangha, Search
  • Click on the Libraries tab
  • You will be directed to the page ‘Welcome to Libraries’
  • Click on the Koshas – Dictionaries 
  • You will find ‘Vaijayanti Kosa ( San) Synomyms And Homonyms’ under Books tab
  • Click on the ‘Open in textract’


  • Click on the Edit button on the top right corner to set the editing mode ON
  • We will compare the left side red box text with the right side grey box text, if both of them match, we press ctrl+C. 
  • The right-side box will change to Yellow colour
  • To save your proofread content, please click on the ‘Cloud icon’ on the top right corner as shown below. The saved content will change to green colour

  • If there is a mismatch and we correct the text, the saved content will be shown in ‘Sandal’ colour
  • For Devanagiri font correction, please download and install PramukhIME on your windows computer.

  • PramukhIME zip folder will be downloaded on your computer
  • Open the zip folder and click on the PramukhIME Application as shown in below

  • Click on Extract all button the folder will open all files

  • The PramukhIME Icon is saved on bottom right corner of your desktop.
  • Please select the highlighted icon and select the Sanskrit language from the pop menu below

  • Alternatively, you can use the below oline PramukhIME site for correction

  • Also you can use the below lexilogos website for Devanagiri font
